Material Advantage Membership Dues Increase

Effective August 1, 2012, the membership dues for Material Advantage increased from US$25 to US$30. This marks the first time since the program’s inception that a dues increase was implemented. Over the years, the four partner organizations (ACerS, AIST, ASM and TMS) have increased their own professional membership dues to keep up with increased costs of materials and delivering services to members. Increasing student dues has been considered a few times in the past.

Program partners remain committed to exploring ways of increasing the value of membership in Material Advantage, in areas such as developing new contests and increasing travel assistance.

  • Hello!

I just wanted to clarify the membership “year” extension. If I understand correctly, anyone who joins after August 1 will not have to renew their membership until January of the year after (so ~17 months later)? Thanks for your help.
