Student Monitors Needed at MS&T

Material Advantage Student Members may partially defray expenses by serving as session monitors at MS&T’10 in Houston, Texas. Monitors assist session chairs, record session attendance statistics, assist with audio/visual equipment, etc. Monitor positions are limited and are assigned on a first-come basis. Interested students should contact Nate Natale.

Virginia Tech’s Journal of Undergraduate Materials Research (JUMR) is accepting undergraduate paper abstracts for Volume 5. Here’s your chance to publish your work if you are enrolled in an undergraduate program at any institution working on a materials-related project. This is the perfect opportunity for students to submit senior design papers.

New for MS&T’10: Professional Recruitment & Career Pavilion

The Professional Recruitment & Career Pavilion is a new addition to MS&T’10 this year. All students are invited to stop by the pavilion on Tuesday, October 19, and Wednesday, October 20, during regular expo hall hours. This is your chance to make valuable contacts with potential employers, so plan to visit booths, talk to company reps, and view job postings while you explore the exhibit hall.

In addition, there is a new career pavilion networking happy hour reception on Tuesday, October 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the expo hall. Refreshments will be provided, and casual networking with company representatives is encouraged! Your conference badge is all you need to attend this reception. When you make travel plans for MS&T, why not plan to stay a little longer on Tuesday, October 19, and attend this happy hour and make the necessary connections you need for your career in materials science and engineering!
